Hoshiarpur: Today on the occasion of Inauguration of 9th Indian International Deaf Festival, screening of film “Gold Medal Da Dahej” based on the touching story of a blind girl was held at Auditorium of C.T. University among the representatives of various Deaf and Dumb Associations. Along with others, eminent Social Worker & Politician Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna and Deepak Balli were specially present on the occasion.

Along with the screening of the film in the auditorium equipped with the best technology in the North India, the story of the film was well explained in the language of the deaf by sign language experts. To watch the deaf audience enjoying the story of the movie as a unique experience for the Director of the film Ashok Puri and Artists Nancy Arora, Amrit Lalm Kamaljeet Kaur, Renuka Rajput, Ramesh Kumar, Playback Singer Satish Silhi Uppal, Ajay Sachdev and Gurmel Dhaliwal. Avinash Rai Khanna the story writer of the film shared his views about the problems and achievements in the lives of handicaps with the management and guests on this occasion.

He said that such types of efforts to bring back the neglected section of the society to main stream are the need of the hour. Story writer Avinash Rai Khanna, Director Ashok Puri along with the entire cast of the film were felicitated by the institute after the screen was completed. Ashok Puri Said that while making a film on a blind girl where we have learned a lot about the lives of blinds, at the same time lot of possibilities have emerged for the problems and good life of Deaf and Dumb
