Hoshiarpur, January 7 (S.S.)
A student of BSc (Nursing) named Sarbi Kaushak, daughter of Ashish Kumar of village Parei (Bajrer), District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, allegedley committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan at hostel room No. 205, Block G, Rayat Bahra College on Hoshiarpur-Chandigarh road today.
According to the police sources Sarbi Kaushak had come to Hoshiarpur for giving examination on January 3 and was staying in Room No. 205 of the hostel of Rayat Bahra College.
Today her body was found hanging with the ceiling fan in the hostel room.
After getting conducted the post mortem police handed over the body to her family for cremation.
Investigating officer ASI Naresh Kumar told this correspondent that no suicide note was found in the room. The cause of suicide had yet to be ascertained.
Police did proceedings under section 174 of the Cr PC and the case is being investigated thoroughly, he said.
