Hoshiarpur, March 29 (CDT NEWS): Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain on Saturday urged the people to come forward in getting the curse of drugs eradicated from society by helping the addicts to shun this menace.
In a fervent appeal to people, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain stated that it is high time to work in shoulder to shoulder under the State Government’s initiatives against drugs including ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ for the welfare of addicts so that they could relish the healthy and prosperous life in mainstream. She pointed out the the District Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center has various facilities as well as free treatment for addicts. Those trapped in drugs can take full advantage of facilities, arrangements, services including counselling from experts, skill development training, yoga, exercises, gym and healthy enviroument.
Deputy Commissioner said that Punjab Government had also unveiled OOAT clinics in the district, which were being catered to the need of addicts by providing requisite medication. She mentioned that a 24X7 helpline 85580-01882 had already been setup to provide information regarding nearby OOAT clinics. All the information of addicts is being kept confidential, said Deputy Commissioner adding that if anyone have information about the addicts they could get them admitted in the centre for better treatment. she said people can also get information from ddchsp@gmail.com or phone number 01882-244636.
Aashika Jain reiterated that the enhancement of existing capacity of District Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center is under consideration of District Administration. she said that they had visited the center twice to inspect the existing infrastructure, futuristic improvements and capacity enhancement and shortly a blue print could be finalised.
