Solar Energy panel of 300 KW installed at District Administrative Complex on eve of Independence Day

The Government buildings are being illuminated with the solar energy panels thanks to the efforts of the Punjab Government to transform Jalandhar into a Smart City. As part of this, the District Administrative Complex Jalandhar has also seen a solar energy panel being installed on the eve of Independence Day.

Disclosing this, the DC Mr. Ghanshyam Thori said that under the Smart City project, solar energy panels are being installed on as many as 21 Government buildings in the city at a cost of Rs. 17 crore. Expressing happiness, he said that the solar energy panel installed at the District Administrative Complex is of 300 KW capacity.

Divulging more, the DC said that a solar energy panel having 200 KW capacity has been installed at DAV Police Public School, One having 60 KW capacity at Police Commissioner’s office, 15 KW capacity at SSP Office, 40 KW at Pre Primary Wing of DAV Police Public School, 9 KW at Government Girls School Ladowali, 3 KW at Government Education College, 15 KW each at Agriculture Office and JDA office.

Mr. Ghanshyam Thori further added that developments centric projects of various nature have been kickstarted under the guidance of Commissioner Municipal Corporation-cum-CEO Smart City project Mr. Karnesh Sharma and out of these, the one pertaining to the solar energy panel installation is being prioritized. The DC said that rest of the buildings would also be glittering soon with the solar energy panels which would prove to be major milestones in terms of energy conservation.
