Orders will only apply to newly hired employees

Patiala,Hoshiarpur October 21, 2020(CDT) : With the approval of the Finance Department of the Punjab Government, the notification regarding the pay scale of the officers / employees of the School Education Department has paved the way for new recruitment in the department. This notification will be of great benefit to the newly recruited employees. In addition, as per the amended notification issued today, it has been clarified that the new pay scales would not be applicable to the existing officers / employees of the department and would be applicable only to the future employees.

According to the sources in the department, the Finance Department of the Punjab Government had on July 17, 2020 in a letter to all the departments of the state (No. 7/42 / 2020-5FP 1 / 741-746) directed that before any kind of recruitment, the concerned department should be informed. The new pay scales for its employees would have to be approved by the Finance Department of the Punjab Government. In this regard, the school education department has taken the initiative to seek approval from the finance department for a new pay scale for its employees, which has paved the way for the department to make appointments for the posts of principals to ETT teachers.

Employee finance experts say that the new pay scales will be of great benefit to the newly appointed officers / employees. For instance, the principals working on probation period in the department are currently getting a salary of around Rs 15,000, while the newly recruited principals will get a salary of Rs 56,100 during the probation period.

Similarly at present the head teachers are getting Rs.10300 but the future headteachers will get a salary of Rs. 35400 during the probation period. In addition, if any new appointment in the department is made according to the new pay scale, then the officers / employees working on probation period from the previous period can claim the higher pay scale available to junior employees.
