REITERATES COMMITMENT TO GIVE IMPETUS TO INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITIES IN PUNJAB


HOSHIARPUR, NOVEMBER 26 (ADESH):
After a long wait, the restoration of train services in the region finally started with the dispatch of goods at domestic and international level,  boosting the trade and industry as a leading automobile industry of the region- ‘International Tractors’ is all set to dispatch rakes of Sonalika tractors to other states.

Stating this here on Thursday, the Industries and Commerce Minister Sunder Sham Arora said that the rakes of Sonalika tractors were being dispatched to Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and other states  from local Nasrala railway station. With the opening of goods rail services, the development pace of industries and trade will be accelerated in the coming days, hence strengthening the economic growth of state, he added.

Not only the leading industries but also the micro and small industries will be immensely benefited with running of trains, said the Minister adding that there was a backlog of goods in industrial sector that would also be cleared in coming days through such rakes, said the Minister.



Sunder Sham Arora also mentioned that the state industries had already suffered major losses in absence of train services but now the industrial growth would be put on track by giving impetus to import-export industrial activities. He said that the International tractors had recently dispatched a rake of tractors to Bangladesh and the another one is also being sent in coming few days to Bangladesh thus strengthening the export trade in Punjab.

Reiterating the of Punjab Government’s commitment to further strengthen the industrial activities in the state, the Minister said that State had already earmarked suitable chunk of lands in industrial parks at Rajpura, Ludhiana and Bathinda for this purpose so that the industrial projects could be executed as per the dearies of industrial houses. The Minister also thanked Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for his concerted efforts to get the rail services operated in state after convincing the agitating farmers in larger public interest.
