REMEMBERING OUR HEROES AND NURTURING FUTURE WARRIORS

Pathankot (Rajinder Rajan Bureau) To commemorate the gallant actions of four of our posthumous gallantry awardees, who have etched their name in the annals of Indian Military history by making the supreme sacrifice, a cycle rally under aegis of Rising Star Corps organised on 16 January 21. The rally aimed at honouring Naik Maninder Singh, Naik Buta Singh, Naik Kuldeep Singh and Rifleman Anil Kumar Jaswal, who have been awarded with Sena Medal (Gallantry) posthumously. 

The theme of the event was “Remembering Our Heroes and Nurturing Future Warriors”. The rally was being undertaken by four teams of 10 soldiers each. Two teams will cycled to Amritsar, one to Ludhiana and one to Una. The teams will pay homage to the martyred bravehearts and will extend an invite to their Next of Kins to the forthcoming Western Command Investiture Ceremony which is being organised by the Gurj Division at Mamun Military Station on 06 February 21.

Major General RA Moghe, General Officer Commanding Gurj Division, flagged off the cycle rally on 16 January 21. This gesture by the Indian Army highlights the respect given to our bravehearts and connect with their families whose members made the supreme sacrifice for the Nation.
