H0SHIARPUR (ADESH PARMINDER SINGH) District Level Exhibition cum Workshop on Energy Efficient Building Materials / Appliances in Hoshiarpur District was organized on 29th January 2019 at Municipal Corporation, Hoshiarpur. For the Effective Implementation of Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) as notified by the Government of Punjab in 2016, PEDA with the support of Bureau of Energy Efficiency has initiated such district level workshops cum exhibitions in various districts of Punjab through GMK Infra Solutions LLP. The main objective of conducting such exhibitions cum workshops in the state is to create awareness, sensitize the stakeholders to the use of energy efficient technologies and building materials.
Ms. Anupam Kaler, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur was the Chief Guest. She emphasized the need of energy conservation and use of efficient technologies. See shared information with the delegates on optimum forest cover, environmental degradation and electricity wastage. She emphasized on the use of technology that all stakeholders and delegates should vouch to conserve energy and avert the impending energy crisis. She also visited various exhibitors in the exhibition area and went through various products and specifications.
Sh. Balbir Raj Singh, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur was the Guest of Honour at the occasion. He thanked PEDA for hosting workshop on such a crucial subject in Municipal Corporation Office. He requested all the delegates to pledge energy conservation and use star labelled equipments and optimize the use of electrical appliances.
Presentations were given on energy efficiency in various aspects, lighting and controls, sensors, air conditioning, building envelope and fenestration, electrical fixtures and fittings, plumbing, motors and pumps, Building Management Systems and Smart Metering, Revolving Investment Fund, Roof Top Solar Installations, etc.
Exhibitors from various companies displayed their products like LG, Prime Blocks, GMK Solar, Bharat Bricks, Jindal Bricks, Nirman Insulations, Tata Solar, SV Woods, Clean Earth, Asian Paints and various other products.
Various stakeholders including municipal councils, architects, consultants, builders, contractors, industry, academia and residents participated and availed the benefits of knowledge sharing sessions by the experts and exhibitors. Large number of local residents also visited to gather information on Roof Top Solar Plants.
