HOSHIARPUR, FEBRUARY 26 (ADESH) : Urging people not to step out from their homes without wearing masks, SSP Navjot Singh Mahal said all of us should be remained more vigilant amid rising cases of COVID.
Under ‘Mission Fateh’ the awareness drive has been re-intensified to sensitise people against the COVID-19 in view of the rising numbers of corona cases in district, said Mahal adding that it is our bounden and collective duty to strictly follow the health advisories to keep check this contagion.
While holding a meeting with police officials here, the SSP also directed that no lax approach towards health protocols would be tolerated by police. He also sought fulsome support and cooperation from general public to contain the COVID. SSP said that the district police had already been distributed more than 20,000 masks and with the help of social organisation masks would be redistributed amid increasing cases. As many as 813 cases were registered for violating curfew/lockdown guidelines with nearly 51,000 challans recovering nearly Rs. 2.60 crore as penalty.
Exhorting the people not to violate the COVID guidelines especially the wearing of masks and social distancing in larger public interest, Mahal said that it was need of the hour to control the further spread of Coronavirus. All preventive measures should be followed in true spirit, said the SSP adding that proper wearing of masks and washing hands frequently was necessitated in these trying circumstances and if someone was travelling outside home, he/she should wear masks without any fail.
