With health teams visiting door to door,  Special inoculation drive to cover specially abled beneficiaries has begun with full swing in the district.

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori stated that district administration was duty bound to serve weaker and needy sactions of the society and would leave no stone unturned to serve them amid this unprecedented health crisis. He said that all the SDMs have been monitoring this drive personally and concerted efforts were being made to approach every single beneficiaries to provide them jabs of Covid-19 vaccine at their home.

He stated that such beneficiaries can seek inoculation facilities at their doorsteps by dailing control room number 0181-2224417. He reiterated district administration’s commitment to covering every eligible beneficiary under the vaccination drive so that no one was left without the jab of Covid-19 vaccine.

The DC also directed the SDMs to ensure that no specially abled person is left without vaccination in their respective jurisdictions.

Pointing out further Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Himanshu Jain said that so far 49 such eligible beneficiaries have approached the administration through helpline number and a special team has been deployed to inoculate them at their doorstep.

SDM Nakodar Poonam Singh said that a total of 666 specially abled beneficiaries have been identified as per PWDs pensioner’s data and they would be inoculated at the doorsteps in the coming days.

SDM Dr. Vineet Bajaj said that the department has identified as many as 1282 specially abled beneficiaries in Phillaur sub division and a special campaign has been started to approach them to provide Covid-19 doses at their home. He stated that all of them would be covered within few weeks.
