- NIJJAR RELEASES NEWSLETTER OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT
SAYS, THIS INITIATIVE OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF CHIEF MINISTER BHAGWANT MANN WILL ACT AS A QUARTERLY REPORT CARD OF THE DEPARTMENT’S ACHIEVEMENTS

Punjab Local Government Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar on Thursday released the maiden issue of the quarterly newsletter of his department. He said that this initiative would act as a report card of the Local Government department.
Releasing this newsletter here at Municipal Bhawan, Dr. Nijjar said that under the visionary and dynamic leadership of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government is committed to striving for the comprehensive development of the municipal towns of the state and to report its initiatives to the general masses in a transparent manner. “The intent of this newsletter is to reach out to all the relevant stakeholders and make them conversant about the works being carried out. Further, it shall help in making the residents aware of various important projects”, said Mr. Nijjar while adding that this newsletter has shown the seriousness of the Government through initiatives taken by the State as well as ULBs to ensure transparent, accountable and responsive Governance.
Divulging further, Dr. Nijjar said that the quarterly newsletter (March-2023) released today has reported the progress under key projects like Smart City Mission, AMRUT, Swachh Bharat Mission, MSeva (e-Governance), Punjab Municipal Services Improvement Projects (PMSIP). “Apart from this, information regarding World Bank/Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, GIS-enabled geospatial planning, urban transport (Bus Rapid Transit System – BRTS), housing for the urban poor, affordable housing projects, credit link subsidy scheme, urban livelihood missions, business process re-engineering and municipal fire services has been also carried in this newsletter”, he added.
Cabinet Minister said that this issue has also highlighted the financial support provided to the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) under AMRUT and Swachh Bharat Mission besides mentioning the new initiatives in the field of e-governance such as instant issuance of trade license for non-hazardous trades, Public Works Integrated Management System and Integrated Financial Management System.
On this occasion, Mr. Vivek Pratap Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary, Local Government, Ms. Isha Kalia, IAS, Chief Executive Officer-PMIDC, Mr. Uma Shankar Gupta, IAS, Director Local Government and other departmental officers were present.

ਕਿਹਾ, ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਤਿਮਾਹੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਕਾਰਡ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੇਗੀ

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਡਾ: ਇੰਦਰਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਿੱਜਰ ਨੇ ਵੀਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਤਿਮਾਹੀ ਨਿਊਜ਼ਲੈਟਰ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਅੰਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਕਾਰਡ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
ਅੱਜ ਇੱਥੇ ਮਿਉਂਸਪਲ ਭਵਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਨਿਊਜ਼ਲੈਟਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਡਾ: ਨਿੱਜਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਦੂਰਅੰਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਤੀਸ਼ੀਲ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਮਿਉਂਸਪਲ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਯਤਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਆਮ ਜਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ। “ਇਸ ਨਿਊਜ਼ਲੈਟਰ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹਿੱਸੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਇਹ ਵਸਨੀਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੇਗਾ”, ਡਾ.ਨਿੱਜਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਿਊਜ਼ਲੈਟਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ, ਅਤੇ ਜਵਾਬਦੇਹ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਯੂਐਲਬੀਜ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ। .
ਹੋਰ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਡਾ. ਨਿੱਜਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਤਿਮਾਹੀ ਨਿਊਜ਼ਲੈਟਰ (ਮਾਰਚ-2023) ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਰਟ ਸਿਟੀ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ, ਅਮਰੁਤ, ਸਵੱਛ ਭਾਰਤ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ, ਐਮ.ਐਸ.ਸੇਵਾ (ਈ-ਗਵਰਨੈਂਸ), ਪੰਜਾਬ ਮਿਉਂਸਪਲ ਸਰਵਿਸਿਜ਼ ਇੰਪਰੂਵਮੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟਸ (ਪੀ.ਐੱਮ.ਐੱਸ.ਆਈ.ਪੀ.) ਵਰਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਅਧੀਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। . “ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਬੈਂਕ/ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਢਾਂਚਾ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਬੈਂਕ, ਜੀਆਈਐਸ-ਸਮਰੱਥ ਭੂ-ਸਥਾਨਕ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੰਦੀ, ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਟਰਾਂਸਪੋਰਟ (ਬੱਸ ਰੈਪਿਡ ਟ੍ਰਾਂਜ਼ਿਟ ਸਿਸਟਮ – ਬੀਆਰਟੀਐਸ), ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਲਈ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼, ਕਿਫਾਇਤੀ ਹਾਊਸਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ, ਕਰੈਡਿਟ ਲਿੰਕ ਸਬਸਿਡੀ ਸਕੀਮ, ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਆਜੀਵਿਕਾ ਮਿਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ, ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਰੀ-ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਊਂਸੀਪਲ ਫਾਇਰ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਨਿਊਜ਼ਲੈਟਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ”, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ।
ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਨੇ ਅਮਰੂਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਵੱਛ ਭਾਰਤ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਤਹਿਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ (ਯੂ.ਐਲ.ਬੀਜ਼.) ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਈ-ਗਵਰਨੈਂਸ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀਆਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਗੈਰ-ਖਤਰਨਾਕ ਵਪਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਲਾਇਸੰਸ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਨ, ਪਬਲਿਕ ਵਰਕਸ ਏਕੀਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਏਕੀਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
