VB nabs ASI accepting bribe of Rs 20k
Chandigarh, July 21:
Ludhiana Range of Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Friday arrested ASI Satnam Singh posted at Police Station Tibba while accepting a bribe money of Rs 20,000. A private person Balbir Singh alias Bira Dhillon has also been arrested from his house at mohalla Jagdishpura.
Revealing this in a press communique issued here, an official spokesperson of VB said that the accused ASI has been caught red handed while accepting the bribe from complainant Daljeet Kaur resident of Ram Nagar (Ludhiana) through a private person Balbir Dhillon, to settle a complaint filed against her.
The accused police official had demanded Rs 1,40,000 and agreed at Rs60,000. He said that the complaint claimed that she had already paid Rs 3000 to him on 18.7.2023.
Divulging further, the spokesperson said that a FIR no. 17 Dated 21.7.2023 under section 7, 7A of Prevention of Corruption Act & 120- B of IPC has been registered against both the accused at Police Station VB, Ludhiana Range
