HOSHIARPUR/DOABA TIMES (ADESH PARMINDER SINGH) Union Minister of State Shri Som Prakash in a statement said that 68 villages of Dasuya block have been selected under the 100% assistance of the Central Government under Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rural Mission Scheme. For whose development an amount of Rs 30 crore is to be released by the Central Government, which will be given in three installments. The first installment of Rs 9 crore has been released, the second installment will be Rs 9 crore and the third installment will be of Rs 12 crore.
In these 68 villages, 2471 solar lights will be installed by Axian Peda at a cost of Rs. 3 crore 25 lakh. Due to which, these villages will also be illuminated like cities. In addition to this, under the Swachh Bharat Mission, Rs. 24.26 lakh will be spent on toilets, Rs. 4 crore 88 lakh in water supply scheme improvement, and Rs. 83 lakh will be spent on skill development centers and other works. He said that due to the indifferent attitude of the Punjab Government towards Punjab, the development works being done under the Centrally aided schemes are proving to be a boon for the people of the area.
