SAMARITAN MOVE OF COMMISSIONERATE POLICE, ENSURES PAYMENT OF DUE PAYMENT WORTH RS 95 LAKH TO LABOURERS
* 2000 LABOURERS OF 45 FACTORIES TO BE BENEFITTED FROM THE MOVE
Jalandhar – (Sandee Singh Virdi/Gurpreet Singh/Sukhpal Singh) –
Donning a new role, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today provided major relief to around 2000 labourers working in 45 factories by ensuring wages payments worth Rs 95 lakh to them.
Due to curfew these labourers working in factories at Leather complex and surgical complex were facing trouble in maintaining their livelihood. In a goodwill gesture the Commissioner of Police took up the matter with the industrialists and asked them to pay the due wages of these labourers so they could meet any urgency. As the industrialists agreed to this, the Commissionerate Police issued 701 e-passes to the representatives of the factories for disbursing the payments with a rider that salaries would be disbursed within three hours and social distance would be maintained while distribution of the salaries.
Accordingly 1000 labourers from 10 industries in Leather complex and another 1000 labourers from 35 industries in Surgical complex were distributed Rs. 50 lakh and Rs 45 lakh respectively. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police said that these efforts would continue in coming days also so that maximum relief could be provided to the people of needy strata. Mr. Bhullar said that in consonance with the glorious tradition of the Punjab Police, the Commissionerate Police has distributed 9460 packets of food to the needy people.
The Commissioner of Police said that the Commissionerate Police was committed to serve the people with full passion and zeal. He said that the Commissionerate Police was fully geared up and equipped to meet any sort of challenge whether of law and order or for fulfilling the basic requirements of the general public.
