In order to ensure regular and uninterrupted supply of food material to the migrant labourers working in the city, the district administration has set up a central warehouse in the city from where relief material would be sent to this strata of society.

The Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Navjot Singh Mahal inspected the warehouse set up at the Government Senior Secondary School Nehru Garden. The entire arrangements in this warehouse would be supervised by Additional Chief Administrator Jalandhar Development Authority Ms. Navneet Kaur Bal. The officers passed on the necessary directions for the security arrangements and other logistics in the warehouse, which would be under 24X7 CCTV camera surveillance.

The officers said that the philanthropists who were interested in helping these migrant labourers could make their contribution in the form of dry ration in this warehousing. The Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police said that the district administration would be distributing the packets of five kilograms wheat flour, five kilogram rice, one kilogram sugar, one kilogram pulses and 250 grams of tea, They exhorted the people to make maximum contributions in this regard for extending helping hand to the people in distress.

The officers said that along with Ms. Bal, the District Food and Civil Supplies Controller Mr. Narinder Singh and District Education Officer Mr. Harinder Pal Singh would also foresee the arrangements in this warehouse. They said that district administration was fully geared to provide timely and adequate help to the people in this hour of crisis.

On the occasion Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Jaspreet Singh, Mr. Surjit Lal, Mr. Ashok Sahota, Mr. Jagdish Kumar, Mr. Kulwinder Gakhal and others were also present.
